After hundreds of trials and refinements, their efforts finally paid off. In 2008, ETANG Corporation proudly launched the brand “OPPADAK,” marking the beginning of a new era in Korean-style oven-baked chicken.
The name “OPPADAK” is a shortened variation of the Korean phrase “Oven eh Bbajeen Chicken” (오븐에 빠진 닭), which means “Chicken that fell in the oven.”
Today, Oppadak Chicken Malaysia continues this legacy by offering a healthier alternative — chicken that contains less trans fat, carbohydrates, sodium, and calories, all achieved through our signature oil-free cooking process.

Founded in 1996, ETANG Corporation began its journey with the launch of its first Pizza Etang store in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. In 2008, the company expanded its innovation into the poultry industry by launching and patenting the OPPADAK brand, specializing in oven-baked chicken made without oil.
In 2016, OPPADAK was honored with a Presidential Citation at the Franchise Business Awards — a milestone that recognized its outstanding contribution to Korea’s food and beverage industry.
